At the Hinsdale South Indoor Meet, the Benet Academy Girls Track Team had their first meet of the indoor season. Competing against 3 other schools, Benet Academy had huge successes both individually and as a team.
In the high jump, Vija Polikaitis jumped 4’9”, placing first in the event. The other jumpers did very well, with Ryann Abramic leading for Benet Academy in triple jump and in long jump. Nida Polikaitis led Benet Academy with a throw of 9.52 meters in shot put.
Individually, all athletes had fantastic performances. A few highlights were Delilah Helenhouse’s 1600 meter and Gabi Brown’s 55 meter and 200 meter races. Both of these athletes showcased the beginning of their immense talent.
During the relays, Benet Academy had a lot of success. Some notable relays were the 4×160 meter relay which included Ava Strugala, Hadley Feind, Kamryn Gaydos, and Molly Robinson. The 4×400 meter relay teams competed head to head for second and third place overall. The 4×800 meter relay teams also performed spectacularly, placing first and third. Overall, the Benet Academy Girls’ Track Team performed outstandingly.
