Hello everyone! My name is Maddie McGarry, and I’m a senior at Benet Academy, where I am a member of the girls cross country and track teams. In track, I focus on hurdles, jumps, and sprints, and I’m proud to have gone to the IHSA State Championships twice as part of the 4×200 meter relay team. Outside of my athletic pursuits, I work as a receptionist at a podiatrist’s office, which has helped me develop valuable skills in communication and organization. I’m also actively involved in my church community, where I enjoy contributing to various activities. In my free time, I love running, creating niche Pinterest boards, playing with my dog, and taking nighttime drives with friends while listening to music. These activities not only bring me joy but also help me maintain a balanced and fulfilling life as I prepare for my future beyond high school. I am excited to be a part of the Benet Herald this year, and I’m looking forward to writing about the girls track team’s accomplishments in the Spring.
