Two students play at the Guitar Club Show on May 6.

The Guitar Club show featuring MUSE, the creative writing club, took place on Saturday, May 6 at 7 p.m. It included solos, duets, quartets and so much more.

The show started off with an original poem from Tommy Walsh. Walsh is a member of the MUSE creative writing club. His poem made you think and was definitely very creative.

The next act was by Keira Geraci, she performed the song “Romanzana” by Anonymous. Geraci set a high expectation for the rest of the acts to come as she played with enthusiasm and passion. Geraci also performed an original song with Alice Kohley; “Wish You Were Here” by Pink Floyd with Devin Agner, Cole Spiegel and Griffin Sullivan; “Alien With A Mask On” by Ratboys with Danny Benish, Erin Crowe, Li Holley, Cole Spiegel and Griffin Sullivan; and “Take A Picture” by Filter with Cole Spiegel, Kyle Spiegel and Griffin Sullivan.

Geraci said, “Preparing for [the show] honestly was more fun than stressful for me because I love playing so much, and everyone who plays in the show are such genuine people so they made it such a great time.” She also said that “Guitar club is just such a great community and the show is such a great place to be.”

The sense of community definitely was not lost on stage, as everybody looked to be having such a good time playing the music that they love in front of their friends and family.

One crowd favorite was “What’s Up” by 4 Non-Blondes. This was performed by Ryan Amedei, Charlie Coffey, Drew Fieldman, Brian Pipal and Hannah Schwartz. Schwartz did an amazing job with the vocals and the rest of the band members backed her up very well. The group also performed “Black Dog” by Led Zeppelin which was definitely another crowd favorite.

The closing act of the show was a teacher ensemble. The ensemble performed three songs: “Bubble Toes” by Jack Johnson, “Closer to Free” by The Bodeans and “You Wreck Me” by Tom Petty. The members of the ensemble were Mr. Akin, Mr. Walsh, Mr. Taska and students Danny Benish and Griffin Sullivan. All three songs they performed were huge hits. It was really interesting to see the teachers in their element and doing something with lots of passion and love.

The Guitar Club is already preparing for their next show which shows their dedication and love for music. There was so much talent displayed at the show and everyone played with lots of enthusiasm. It is clear how much they all love music.
