Benet students experienced their first All School Mass of the 2026-2027 school year on Wednesday, September 2nd. Father James Guarascio, a graduate of Benet and the vocation director for the Diocese of Joliet, celebrated this mass. Father Guarascio told a thoughtful story of his journey to the priesthood, reflecting on his time at Benet. Father Guarascio’s memorable homily perfectly encapsulated LIFT’s 2026-27 school year theme, “I choose to Know God.”
During the mass, seniors were welcomed as Eucharistic Ministers. They received crosses from Father Guarascio and Deacon Christopher. Senior Declan Crist described how he felt becoming a Eucharist Minister by saying, “I am very fortunate to have received the opportunity. My first mass as a Eucharistic minister was a great experience. I’m excited for the masses to come.” As Declan said, Benet students savor their time together at mass and look forward to more to come.
