Girls Golf Concludes a Great Season

This past month, the Benet girls golf team wrapped up their season, capping off a strong run with a team trip to the regional meet. The Lady Redwings didn’t lose a conference match, ousting Marian Central Catholic at Bonnie Brook Golf Course to win conference for the second straight year.
Junior Caroline Wing finished second overall at the conference meet with a score of 81, while freshman Reagan Rodenbostel and senior Molly Bannon joined her among the top fifteen. After the team placed fourth in the regional meet, Benet sent juniors Caroline Wing and Tess Jacobs as well as seniors Molly Bannon and Sam Coffey to compete at sectionals. Wing again led the Benet competitors, posting a strong score but missing the cut by two strokes.
This season was the last for seniors Sam Coffey, Molly Bannon, and Jana Maras, who were honored on Senior Night before the conference meet. While the loss of these three will no doubt impact the team in the future, the Lady Redwings have no intention of slowing down and expect big things from their younger players in years to come.
