Benet Golf on Par with Competition

After successful performances throughout the year, the Benet Academy varsity boys golf team’s 2017 season has officially come to an end. The Redwings finished in fourth place in the East Suburban Catholic Conference, as well as fifth place in regionals and third in the Dundee-Crown Invite. Seniors Iain McCarter and Matt Severino represented the team at regionals with scores of 79 and 82, respectively. Severino, along with junior Jonah Snelling, medaled at separate Invites this season. The decorated senior continued his impressive season by adding on a nomination to the ESCC All-Conference team.

Although this year’s senior class will be sorely missed, Benet’s boys golf team should still continue to succeed. The Redwings’ JV team finished in a tie for first in the conference this season. One can only hope that the varsity team’s new additions will bring about even better results next year.
