On Friday, January 20, the Lady Redwings met up at the ‘Madhouse on Maple’ to compete against Marist in an ESCC match up. The Marist student section had a big show out, especially for an away game, but the Benet fans were able to show the same level of support for their team. Junior Tsimba Malonga played with poise on both offense and defense. Sophomore Claire Prasse shot several three pointers, giving a much needed morale boost to her team. Despite these consistent efforts from the Lady Redwings, the Redhawks maintained their level of performance until the very end of the game. Marist’s Sophomore Abby Callahan and Senior Julia Ruzevich together had 30 points, just a shade under half of the team’s final score. This impressive shooting display put the Redhawks ahead of Benet, with a final score of 64-45. The Lady Redwings hope to bounce back for the next game against Downers Grove South.
