From sports to family time, Redwings had a busy four-day weekend. This break, which ran from October 10-13, was anticipated by Benet students throughout all grades, as they were able to relax after a busy first two months of school.
Emelia Gleason spent the weekend hanging out with friends, participating in a Denison lacrosse camp, and going to a pumpkin patch. She said she was “very excited” for her plans and the break from school. Lauren Carrigan said she was “excited to have free time.” She hung out with friends and finished homework assignments. Kaya Luciano spent the weekend with family and friends. She worked on her art and homework and enjoyed going to Mass. Ally Evans competed in the JV race at a cross country meet and placed 11th. She also hung out with some friends and attended a baby shower. She helped out at Step-Up Day on Tuesday as well. Dividing their time between family, friends, school, and their individual interests, these juniors certainly did not let this rare long weekend go to waste.
Sophomore Sarah Read greatly enjoyed her long weekend. She said, “I was really grateful to catch up with a few friends that I hadn’t seen in a while and also spend some much needed time with my family. The weekend was very relaxing and I enjoyed the mornings where I got to sleep in without having to wake up for school.”
Throughout the first two months of school, Redwings have been working diligently both inside and outside of Benet. This four-day break was well deserved. It may have gone by quickly for some, but it was surely well spent by all.
