Benet Academy started the year off with excitement as students filled the halls on August 19th for the first day of the 2026-2027 school year.

Two days before, on Monday, students came to Check-In Day for a chance to walk their schedules, set up their lockers, pick up Benet merch, and much more. Fall sports teams also had picture day on Monday, as it was the start of their seasons. On Tuesday, freshmen came in for Frosh Fest and experienced their first day of high school. They got to experience their classes for the first time and then spend the rest of the day playing games with new friends and classmates. The next day was the first day for the rest of school! Students had the opportunity to meet their teachers and get an idea of what they can expect from their classes this year.

Asked how she felt about the start of school, junior Neda Unguratis said, “I’m so beyond excited for this year! I feel like on the first day, we bounced right back with so much energy! Clubs and sports are looking super promising!” The first week of school had many fun opportunities for students (although the soc hop was cancelled due to rain), including the senior barbecue, home openers for athletics, and the first meetings of new clubs. It is safe to say that this school year will be one of the best!
