Surrounded by the sounds of laughter and music, the Class of 2029 stepped onto the dance floor . . . not just to bust a move, but to break the ice with new friends and spark unforgettable memories with the Freshman Mixer. Nearby, a popular photo booth captured silly poses, jokes among friends, and classic Benet fun—one snapshot at a time.
The Freshman Mixer is an event held for freshmen on the same day as the fall Homecoming Dance. This year, the Mixer was held in St. Martin’s parking lot on Saturday, October 4. The Mixer substitutes for Homecoming for freshmen, allowing them to get to know their peers in a relaxed environment without any pressure of finding a date. At this event, the DJ kept the energy high by playing classic dance songs like “Party in the U.S.A.”
The Mixer was a great substitute for Homecoming, especially since the Class of 2029 is new to the Benet family. Students had a chance to relax, be themselves, and enjoy the night. Even the outfits matched the relaxed atmosphere: jeans, sweatpants, and t-shirts were the most popular look. As freshman Abigail Ling put it, “I thought that the Mixer was a good way to socialize with other people! It let me catch up with friends that I don’t see during the school day as well as meet other people I could connect with. It was a fun experience, especially since everyone was a freshman.” The Freshman Mixer is sure to be one of the highlights of the year for the Class of 2029.
