Alexa Devyak, Staff Writer
Hi everyone! My name is Lexi Devyak, and I am a current Sophomore at Benet Academy. I am involved in many different clubs and activities, such as Girls Cross Country, Benet Herald, Diversity Leadership Council, and Red Cross Club. Outside of Benet, I volunteer at Sunrise Senior Living, where I help plan fun games and activities for the seniors there. In addition, I volunteer at the Waterleaf Women’s Center, a free STD and pregnancy recourse clinic, where I help with filing, advocacy, and administrative work. I also recently participated in a medical school stimulation at Edward Hospital, where I plan to be a Teaching Assistant next year. Some personal interests of mine include anatomy, biology, neurology, and surgery. A fun fact about me is that I used to play hockey for six years on both men’s and women’s teams, and helped win my team the President’s Cup, which was the most elite award for ice hockey at my level. I am most excited to report on sports such as cross country, track, and volleyball for the Benet Herald, as well as other fun Benet traditions like the Christmas Drive and the Nightmare on Maple Street.
