The week of November 17, I interviewed Benet students while they were returning to their lunch tables with food from the school cafeteria. I asked them what their favorite food from the school cafeteria was and why. On the whole, very few students could provide satisfactory reasoning to back up their choices of favorite food. However, this does not make their choices any less valid and I have presented all of the conversations here for your reading pleasure.
Tyler Wojtowicz:
His favorite food is the cookie because he has one every day–they’re always good and “consistent.”
Justin Lescoivas:
His favorite food is chocolate milk, which he said has “been with me through thick and thin” and also mentioning consistency as a plus. He explained that while some chocolate milk is chalky, Benet’s chocolate milk is not, which is the reason why he likes it.
Lanie Rosner:
Her favorite food is the grilled panini because it’s “always really good” and the lady who makes it is super nice.
Brayden Walsh:
His favorite food is the buffalo wings because he likes the wing sauce. (Writer’s note: I afterwards tried the wings with the wing sauce and found the sauce unpleasantly spicy).
Frankie Betancourt:
His favorite food is the burrito because he likes Mexican food.
Alex Korpan:
His favorite food is the spicy chicken wrap because it “tastes the best” and “you get chips with it,” making it a better deal than some of the other food at the cafeteria. He said “I would recommend it.”
Natalie Joanis:
Her favorite food is the fries because they’re always super fresh and crunchy.
My recommendation (Jeremy Konieczny):
My favorite food from the cafeteria is the Italian Beef because I like the meat juices it always comes drenched in. I also like the spicy giardiniera that comes on it.
