Do you want to get started on the path to your dream career path or job? The members of the Career Exploration Club get the inside scoop from local professionals, helping them map out their futures. The club is perfect for learning about different career options and exploring new possibilities. Its mission statement is “To help students explore options for their future, manage the stresses of career exploration (including some information about degrees in college) and introduce life beyond high school.”
The Career Exploration Club meets every other Friday in the Idea Studio, providing a fun escape from the rigors of school and other academic obligations. The club is currently run by seniors Oresta Holubec, Audrey Olejnik, Caroline Gibbs, Maclane Zich, Eva Kim, and Emily Busche, who eagerly introduce students to a variety of career options. Additionally, they are excited to eventually pass on the club to younger students and grant them the opportunity to grow the club and advertise fresh career options to a new group of incoming students.
This club brings in a variety of guest speakers to provide valuable insight and unique perspectives about their current careers through anecdotes and advice. Some topics explored by guest speakers in recent years are medicine, law, and marketing. On days without speakers, the club provides a presentation on a particular field, which is followed by a Kahoot game based on the material.
When asked about why the Career Exploration Club was started and its goals for students, senior leader Audrey Olejnik responded by saying that the leaders “Founded Career Exploration Club to help Benet students explore their options for future careers, whether they already know what they want to do or not. I would encourage everyone to come check it out, especially if we are presenting on a career you are interested in, to get added perspective and information on your potential career path!” New and returning students are always welcome!
