After all of their hard work, it is finally time to say goodbye to the Class of 2026 Benet Girls Swimming and Diving Seniors. Seniors Gisele Buchar, Gina Connelly, Clare Donnelly, Elin Eiseman, Kamryn Engram, Shea Kelly, Kennedy Martinis, Caroline Shepherd, and Abigail Wojcik were celebrated and recognized for their dedication and commitment to the Benet Swim and Dive team for the past few years.
On September 26, the junior swimmers put on an amazing banquet for the seniors at Eddie Merlot’s restaurant. The event started with coaches’ comments and thanks for the seniors. Laughs and tears were then shed as the junior swimmers shared their favorite memories and moments with a senior of their choosing.
This group of seniors was truly record-breaking. Clare Donnelly holds the 100 breaststroke, 200 medley relay, and 200 free relay records. Gisele Buchar holds the 200 free relay record. Also, Elin Eiseman has broken both the 6 and 11 meter diving records. This was truly a hardworking and dedicated group. Buchar, Donnelly, Engram, Kelly, Shepherd and Wojcik have all been on the team all four years of their high school careers at Benet and are sad to see it come to a close, but they are happy to have been part of such a great community of girls. Upon completion of the event, senior Shea Kelly reported, “It felt surreal that we were finally the ones being honored and I’m grateful and impressed by how good a job the junior class did.” Reflecting upon the event, senior Clare Donnelly stated, “Being on the Benet swim team has been one of the most rewarding parts of high school, helping me grow as a teammate and friend.” Thank you Benet Girls Swimming and Diving Seniors. Congratulations on a great season.
