A little throwback to the beginning of this school year. August 22nd marked the first week of school for the Redwings. First, the seniors enjoyed the annual Senior BBQ. Hot dogs were thrown on the grill and seniors spent some time with their classmates before the Soc Hop began. “Seeing everyone was the perfect start to our senior year,” commented Senior Vija Polikaitis. At around 7 p.m., students from all grades filled the St. Daniel’s parking lot. Everyone showed their school spirit by participating in this year’s theme: Mardi Gras! Many reunited with classmates after summer vacation while also enjoying good music and Kona Ice. Students came with friends to take pictures, sing, and dance. Many memories were created and laughter filled the air as students jubilantly enjoyed the festivities. Finally, the night ended with a coveted Benet Academy tradition. Everyone gathered into a huge circle and sang along to Piano Man by Billy Joel. This tradition represents how Benet Academy is one community. All things considered, if this event says anything about the rest of the year, it is promised to be an exciting one!
