Have you ever wanted all your specific college questions asked in a convenient manner by someone connected to your dream school? Well look no further than the college visits offered at Benet Academy.
Every week Benet has a handful of phenomenal college representatives to answer your questions. These representatives take time out of their schedules to come and visit Benet, so it is important that students give them attention and respect. They are available at tables in Martin’s lobby during 6th period for students (mainly juniors and seniors) to engage with. This is a great opportunity to take advantage of.
Senior Alli Pieper gave helpful, insightful advice and encouragement to the student body in regards to the college visits. Pieper said, “The admissions officers are helpful because they are super friendly, easy to talk to, and answered all my questions about their school. They provided extra resources and contact info which made college research feel less overwhelming.”
Pieper’s experience with the college admissions representatives has clearly been positive. In regards to recommending meetings with other college admission representatives, Pieper said she definitely recommended the experience, especially if you talk to representatives of the colleges you know you want to apply to. She also said that, “Most colleges take into account demonstrated interest, and the admissions officers you speak to are likely the same ones who will review your application. Overall, asking questions and talking to the admissions reps really makes the college search process more personal and less stressful.” Pieper’s advice is valuable and something all students should consider taking into consideration. Pieper gave an example of helpful insight, she said that she talked, “To a rep from Fairfield who gave lots of interesting details about the school.” This helped her decide whether or not she wanted to apply there.
Based on Pieper’s suggestions and exposure to this event as well as witnessing all the tables and rep/student interactions, it is safe to say visiting the college reps are worth your time. Do not be shy to check them out and take the next step on your college application journey.
