Benet students were welcomed back to Mass on August 27th, 2025. Fr. Burke of St. Isaac Jogues Parish in Hinsdale led the students, faculty, and family in mass wishing everyone a happy 2025-26 school year! Faith is a pillar of Benet Academy and seeing the community come together to celebrate the miracles of mass together made the day special. Sophomore and alum of St. Isaac Jogues Colleen Murphy expressed that a highlight of the Mass for her was “hearing Fr. Burke share his call to God and fulfill his vocation to the priesthood even when he was pursuing his baseball dreams.” Colleen felt a sense of nostalgia as she saw her parish priest preach to her peers. Also in attendance was Mr. and Mrs. Richards. Their son Sean Richards would have been a junior at Benet this year. With the conclusion of the mass, the Richards announced that they would be generously donating $1,000,000 to keep the Love Like Sean Scholarship going for the next ten years. The recipients of this award and alumni of Saint Isaac Jogues were encouraged to stay after the mass. Photos were taken of the Richards with the alumni and award recipients. It was a touching and memorable way to end the first mass of the year.
