The Benet 2024 Christmas Drive Auction was held on December 4th, and it was a huge success! Student Government did an amazing job organizing this year’s auction, and Benet students raised over $5,000 towards the Christmas Drive.
Student Government Moderator Mr. Steve Frey, President Jeffery Lange, Vice President Hannah Baer, Secretary Emily Coleman, Treasurer Evan Petratos, and the whole audience made the auction environment lively and competitive with banter and excitement as bids were made. There were nineteen options to choose from this year including a spot in the Student-Teacher Basketball Game, a chauffeur service between classes by Student Government President Jeffery Lange, an elevator pass for a week, a BBQ with the Frey Brothers, a home-cooked Italian Dinner & Game Night with Ms. Eraci and Mrs. Monson, a Late-Start Starbucks from Mrs. Butera, a call a friend down to the office pass, an Out of Uniform every Friday of 2nd semester pass, Top Golf with Mr. Gaughan, a March Madness watch party with Mr. Crosby, a Portillo’s lunch with Mr. L, a Yoga Session with Ms. Sayers, a Double Date with Hannah and Emily, a Double Date with Jeffrey and Evan, a spot as an announcer at the Student-Teacher Basketball Game, an Off-Campus Lunch, a Movie Night in the Auditorium, a Food Tour with Sr. Marth, and parking on the main campus for the rest of Christmas Drive for sophomores, all of whom park about a quarter-mile from the main school building. The event with the most bidding was the student-teacher basketball game, raising a total of $3,700!
A special thanks goes out to the teachers who donated. Mr. Frey said “This event could not have been organized without the donations of the teachers.” Hopefully, Benet will raise more money in future years and continue this exciting tradition.
