On October 20th, Benet held an Open House for prospective families and students to learn what Benet has to offer. The event ran for about two hours and worked to build on the open house style from the previous year in 2022-2023. People got to show up and experience what they actually like and are interested in instead of a scheduled guided tour, hoping to draw those possible students in further. Meanwhile, in Saint Ronald’s Gym and Alumni Gym, representatives from clubs and athletic teams were also present for parents and prospective students to learn more about Benet Academy’s vast opportunities. One athletic team that attended was the Benet Girls Swim and Dive Team. Captain Paige Malinowski helped to pass out candy and write down the names of prospective 7th and 8th grade students who were interested in joining, should they come to Benet. Malinowski said, “It’s really cool to see all the different people who will be here when I’m gone. Even though I won’t be on the team when they are, it makes me happy that there are so many girls who want to contribute to our team.” In the end, families were able to have helpful and informative conversations with students and teachers alike about what they wanted to do in the future and explore the school. As big as the Open House is, it marks only one of the opportunities for prospective students to get involved, such as Step-Up Days and the Shadow Program. Overall, the Open House was definitely a great success.
