As the 2024-2025 school year began, Benet students welcomed one of our teachers, Mr. Doyle. Mr. Doyle is a new member of the Religion Department, teaching freshmen and juniors.
Mr. Doyle grew up in Minnesota and received his bachelor’s degree from Saint John’s University, where he majored in Arts in Theology and Political Science. Following college, he received his Master of Arts in Theology, where he worked in parish ministry in Jacksonville, Florida, through the University of Notre Dame’s Echo Graduate Service Program.
Mr. Doyle was always passionate about religion but didn’t think it would become his profession until college. As Mr. Doyle stated about his love for religion, “I like helping people learn about it and work through it.”
Before joining the Benet community, Mr. Doyle worked in the Formation and Ministry Department as a freshman and sophomore Chaplain at Saint Ignatius College Prep in Chicago. Mr. Doyle shared that the main reason he wanted to join Benet was because of his love for the Benedictine tradition that he wanted to embrace. He’s most excited about impacting the students, saying “the students make the job worthwhile”.
As Mr. Doyle has already experienced the first few weeks at Benet, he stated, “It is a wonderful place, everything I have hoped for and more. It has been a welcoming community since day one.” As Mr. Doyle continues his journey at Benet, he hopes the students will take away from his classes that God unconditionally loves each and every one of us.
