This year, Benet Academy will welcome two new religion teachers, one of which is Mr. Moran.
Mr. Moran grew up in Colorado, attended the University of Colorado-Boulder, and later studied at Loyola University Maryland, where he earned a Master of Theological Studies.
Devoted to the Catholic faith, Mr. Moran chose to teach at Benet in hopes of helping students find “the joy in Jesus Christ and the Catholic Church.” He is inspired to share the Catholic faith and help others understand how “rich and compelling” the faith truly is. He states, “I just was really drawn with the idea of getting to work with people every day.” Mr. Moran comes to our school after previously working at the Catholic University of Chicago for eight years, where he taught Catholic-based classes and was the Associate Director of Campus Ministry for the Calvert House.
He was drawn to Benet for multiple reasons, including its academic excellence and religious devotion. He says, “I wanted to work with stellar students, and that’s what we have here. I wanted to work with students who take their studies seriously because I love my studies and feel like it makes it easier to relate to students.”The Benet community looks forward to Mr. Moran’s first year here!
