As we bid farewell to another school year at Benet Academy, it is with great pride and gratitude that we recognize and celebrate the outstanding contributions of our student leaders from the Class of 2024. Their dedication, creativity, and hard work have left a positive mark on the Benet family, making this year truly unforgettable.
This year, the dynamic duo of Michael Budd and Tia Petratos spearheaded Student Government with a blend of innovation and enthusiasm. Despite the challenges of a truncated schedule of one week (instead of two), Michael and Tia successfully orchestrated the annual Christmas Drive, ensuring that the spirit of giving flourished within our halls. Their ability to mobilize students and coordinate logistics in a shortened time frame was nothing short of remarkable.
In addition to their work on the Christmas Drive, Michael and Tia introduced new events to the school calendar. The Nightmare on Maple Street, Benet’s first haunted house, as well as Prom, held at the Griffin Museum of Science and Industry, were both incredible events to remember.
Leadership in the National Honor Society (NHS) was well stewarded under the guidance of Dagny Tombaugh and Norah Youssef. As the largest service club at Benet Academy, the NHS had a significant impact on Benet and the larger community this year thanks to Dagny and Norah’s leadership.
Their initiative in organizing a collection drive to support the homeless demonstrated a profound commitment to addressing local needs and fostering a culture of empathy and generosity among their peers.
Also, NHS orchestrated various events at Villa St. Benedict, creating meaningful connections between students and the residents, and enriching the lives of both groups.
At the heart of Benet’s Campus Ministry organization, Erin Cronin’s leadership shone brightly. This year, Erin helped transition our Campus Ministry organization with a rebranding to L.I.F.T. (Living In Faith and Truth), infusing it with new energy, while maintaining its core mission of faith and service. Under Erin’s guidance, L.I.F.T. continued to provide numerous opportunities for students to deepen their faith and engage in meaningful service. A standout achievement was the continued support for the Mission of Our Lady of the Angels, where students had the chance to make a tangible difference in the lives of those in need. Erin’s ability to inspire and mobilize her peers ensured that L.I.F.T.’s programs were impactful.
Thank you, Class of 2024, for your unwavering dedication and for leaving a legacy that will inspire future generations of Benet students.
Your contributions have made a lasting impact, and we are all the better for it.
