Benet began looking for a new Redwing Academic Center (RAC) moderator after last year’s leader, Mrs. Eckert, retired. As both a Benet alum and prodigy from the girls swim team, Mrs. Bredberg stepped up and filled the role, and she is excited to continue making the RAC an accessible, welcoming, and efficient place. Mrs. Bredberg strives to create an environment where Benet students can feel confident entering, rather than feeling intimidated or embarrassed.
After graduating from Benet in 1998, and then from Marquette University, Mrs. Bredberg felt that she wanted to use her skills in executive functioning and organization to assist students who might be struggling academically. She started a tutoring service and managed it until her children entered junior high at St. Joan of Arc parish in Lisle, after which she felt ready to return to an environment such as Benet.
She has always held Benet in high regard due to its strong community which- coupled with how prepared Benet made her prepared to take on the difficulty of collegiate environments- made it an incredible environment to return to. In addition, Mrs. Bredberg is very grateful for her time at Benet, and believes that every student should be too, saying that, “If you do everything you’re asked of here, you will be prepared for college and everything and beyond.” Benet is very excited to welcome our new Academic Specialist to the Benet Academy family.
