The annual celebration of Founders’ Day serves as an occasion for the Benet community to reflect on the institution’s rich history, express gratitude for its founders, and contribute to the continued success of the academy through the Day of Giving.
Benet Academy was established in 1887 by the Benedictine monks of St. Procopius Abbey. Founders’ Day is a moment to pay homage to these pioneers whose foresight laid the foundation for the school’s enduring legacy.
In conjunction with Founders’ Day, Benet Academy hosts the Day of Giving, an important initiative designed to ensure the continued success and growth of the institution. The Day of Giving is an opportunity for the entire Benet community, including alumni, parents, faculty, and friends, to contribute to the academy’s mission financially. This year, all funds raised on the Day of Giving directly benefit the Father Ronald Rigovsky, O.S.B. Memorial Scholarship Fund, which provides tuition assistance to students at Benet. The recent sunset of the Invest in Kids Tax Credit Scholarship program has significantly increased the need for tuition assistance support. This day is about coming together as a community to demonstrate our collective commitment to the success and well-being of Benet.
Participation in the Day of Giving is not only a financial contribution but also a gesture of commitment and solidarity with the academy’s values. Founders’ Day and the Day of Giving foster a sense of community among current students, alumni, parents, and faculty. This year, we reached our goal of 500 gifts and received our matching gift of $25,000. A total of $97,146 was raised for tuition assistance. This is an amazing number!
Benet Academy’s Founders’ Day and the accompanying Day of Giving embody the spirit of gratitude, generosity, and commitment to excellence. As the community gathers to celebrate the institution’s founders, they also look toward the future, ensuring that Benet Academy continues to thrive and inspire generations to come.
