Over the last two weeks, Senior Jojo Morlock and her Super All Stars Platinum cheer
team hosted a LuvMichael fundraising campaign. The LuvMichael organization was started
because of an adult, Michael, who had extraordinary culinary skills, but because he had autism, there were little to no employment opportunities for him. His parents realized that the state
funding for adults with autism had completely ceased, leaving them between a rock and a hard
place. Michael’s parents decided to start LuvMichael, an organization dedicated to teaching those with autism employment skills by hiring them to make granola.
Jojo was inspired to participate in this campaign because of her sister, Charlie. Charlie
faced a similar situation as Michael- she is a talented baker but lacks support in her employment environment. Jojo wanted to support LuvMichael to aid their efforts in creating an employment
community for adults with autism. Over the last few weeks, Jojo’s team has raised over $17,000 and she alone has raised over $2,000. Jojo’s LuvMichael fundraiser is not over yet, and she hopes to reach her goal of $4,000.
