On Sunday, January 28th, Benet Academy welcomed the newest class of freshmen at the Welcome to Benet event. The Class of 2028 was introduced to Benet Academy and all the school has to offer. First, the Class of 2028 was given a warm Benet welcome, with a prayer and an introduction by Deacon Christopher. The incoming freshmen were then released to explore the building. In the Cafeteria, students set up booths to display their clubs in various ways. The Spanish Club gave out goodie bags with different Spanish candies, including chili-covered lollipops. The Car Club had magnificent signs, featuring Mr. Helmick, to demonstrate their interest in cars. Athletic teams set up their booths in Saint Ronald’s Gymnasium. Where the Class of 2028 was able to converse with coaches and current athletes to see what sports sparked their interest. The Benet Academy Avions demonstrated their routines to the incoming families. Teachers were also available to speak to the incoming freshmen about course selections and answer any questions. The future of Benet Academy rests in these incoming freshmen, and Welcome to Benet did its best to show them what Benet Academy has to offer.
