On the brisk morning of Friday, November 10th, the annual Benet Academy Turkey Bowl ensued. This event was a tremendous success, with record-breaking attendance. Many teams endured the frigid November weather in hopes of winning the coveted Turkey Bowl Championship. Teams wore matching shirts, eyeblack, and pre-wrap to portray their spirit. They also represented themselves with catchy names such as Hot Stuffin, Mashed Potatoes, Full Moon, and Turkey Troopers.

There was an overwhelming response from all-boy team participants, forcing the division to be split into two brackets. The freshman played the sophomores, and the juniors matched up against the seniors. Although the girls had only one bracket, it remained extremely competitive. Teams competed aggressively to secure their place in the next round.

Ultimately, the brackets were whittled down, and the winners prevailed. The Mashed Potatoes, LBJ, and Super Gremlins all claimed the title of 2023 Benet Academy Turkey Bowl Champion. Senior Sophia Bracken, wide receiver for the Mashed Potatoes, exuberantly exclaimed, “As a senior, I aspire to make the most of this year before I graduate, and this particular fundraiser will definitely hold a special place in my heart. I had a blast competing with my friends and creating lifelong memories!”
