This past week, Benet Academy students were educated on the importance of safety. The week consisted of three important teachings, a fire drill, a tornado drill, and an active shooter drill. In each of these circumstances Benet students exhibited an extraordinary portrayal of leadership, attentiveness, and enthusiasm to ensure their safety. The Benet Academy community was also introduced to a new precaution. The Benet faculty and staff prioritize safety above everything, so it was unanimously agreed upon to implement a new app. This app promises efficiency, reliability, and swift communication of emergency situations.
The app – CrisisGo- evidently provides additional safety measures for Benet Academy. There have been many concerns regarding the dependability of CrisisGo, but rest assured. This is a fantastic new system for Benet to utilize. Teachers have been instructed to download this app on their laptops, and their personal phones, to enforce a secondary source of action. CrisisGo also permits teachers to take attendance for other classes, due to the possibility of someone’s devices not working properly. This new implementation will ultimately allow Benet Academy to ensure they are making all efforts possible to keep their students safe.
Overall, Safety week was an immense success. Sophomore Kate Sharp stated, “ This week, I have concluded that Benet Academy is undisputedly committed to safety. I have acquired an understanding of emergencies, and now know how to take initiative if one were to arise. I feel safe, loved, and supported by all of the Benet Community, and can’t wait to spend my next two years here, positive that my safety is valued.”
