Why did you become a teacher?
“ I became a teacher because I’ve always liked helping people. I found that my greatest avenue for doing that was to take complex material and make it accessible, so teaching was a natural progression for me.”
Where did you attend college?
“I went to Loyola University Chicago for my undergrad and Dominican University for my graduate degree.”
Why did you decide to teach at Benet?
“When I interviewed here, I was really enamored with the people here. The students were excellent and the teachers were welcoming and understanding. It felt like a really good fit.”
What is your favorite thing about teaching?
“I love seeing kids ‘get it.’ I have a class right now that is starting to figure out the deeper implications of why Arthur Miller wrote The Crucible and it’s so fun to see that happen in real time.”
Why did you choose to teach English?
“I wrote a lot in high school. I’ve always loved storytelling, so English quickly developed into my favorite subject.”
What is your favorite book that is in the curriculum?
“I’ve always loved The Great Gatsby. It’s such a great tool for teaching symbolism.”
What is the best thing about teaching at Benet?
“The students. They are very welcoming and engaged.”

“Benet is fantastic! As I’ve said, the people here really make the place special.”
