On Friday, September 15, the Environmental Club hosted its first pancake breakfast of the school year. Students gathered in room S119 before school for pancakes, waffles, pop tarts, and a variety of toppings. Club members dressed up in chef hats and volunteered their time and supplies to make this event happen.
Overall, there were around sixty customers served and $118 was raised. This money goes towards field trips, activities, and supplies for projects that the club will do in the future. Last year, some of the money made during the pancake breakfast went towards pumpkin decorating and succulent planting.
This was the first of three breakfasts held each school year. The next pancake breakfast should take place sometime between Halloween and Christmas. Admission will be $2.
Senior and Secretary of the Environmental Club, Gabby Hedden, was very pleased with the breakfast’s success. She stated, “On behalf of the board we were very excited with the amount of volunteers and customers that came to support the Environmental Club.”
If you are interested in joining the Environmental Club, meetings are held in S119 after school on Tuesdays.
