On Friday September 8, the highly anticipated Homecoming Pep rally finally occurred. Filled with many fun events, the pep rally helped raise spirits and excitement for the homecoming dance on the following day. From musical chairs to exciting dances the pep rally was a highlight during the homecoming week. Not only did the pep rally reveal the winners of the homecoming court, it also had thrilling battles of tug-of-war.
The pep rally was kicked off with a lively performance from the cheerleading team which helped to build anticipation for what was to come. Next, a highly competitive game of musical chairs ensued and the battle for the win was brutal. Following this, the games of tug of war began. First, the boys basketball and boys baseball team fought for the win, and the baseball team came out victorious. Next, the girls softball team and the girls basketball team battled against each other, and the softball team won in the end. A member of the girl’s softball team Gianna Cunningham says,”It was a super fun way to get involved with the school and to show off skills and school pride.”
After all of this, the homecoming court’s king and queen of the year were revealed. To finish the pep rally off, the Avions put on a show for the books with a thrilling light show dance. The pep rally added to the excitement of homecoming week and was a great way to get everyone involved with school pride. The pep rally had a bit of something for every person to enjoy and got prideful school spirits up. The 2023 Homecoming Pep Rally was one for the books.
