Benet Academy’s student resource center, the Redwing Academic Center, is returning for its fourth year of academic support. Located in the back of the library, it is open during all periods of the school day for anyone who wants some homework help, studying tips, or to simply talk through difficult concepts.
The organized nature of the RAC is accredited to Mrs. Eckert, who has spearheaded efforts to create an engaging learning environment. When asked about the RAC, she replied, “It is also a place where some students are provided a bit more support, processing, and direction in making positive progress on an academic goal that they have set for themselves while learning some skills and strategies to support their learning… We hope to see Redwings in the RAC when they need a little help to fly.”
Along with the teachers present, the RAC has a great team of peer tutors available as a resource. There will always be someone to help, and each peer tutor specializes in various subjects, the details of which were sent to all students and faculty by email.
The process of going to the RAC is easy – simply ask a teacher to fill out a library pass for the RAC, sign out during your study hall period, and scan the QR code located in the RAC itself to check-in.
The Redwing Academic Center is an excellent resource to help ensure success.
