As the 2023-2024 school year starts up, it is important to acquaint ourselves with the new teachers, and gain an understanding of their background. After an exclusive interview with new teacher Mrs. Maras, Benet Academy has proven once again that they hire the best and brightest.
Mrs. Maras first applied to Benet Academy straight out of Marquette University. She has taught at many Catholic schools: Saint Francis High School, Montini Catholic High School, and Trinity Catholic Academy. In between, she took a break to raise her four daughters, who all attended Benet Academy. She eventually started subbing for Benet Academy in 2014, and was hired in 2023.
Mrs. Maras explains that her love for teaching comes from her appreciation of math. This school year, she is teaching geometry and Advanced Placement Computer Science Principles.
So far, Mrs. Maras has been thoroughly enjoying the Benet Academy community. Mrs. Maras is a part-time teacher, so she does not have her own classroom yet. This has led to her enduring the tedious task of pushing around a cart of her supplies. Overall, Mrs. Maras hopes to make a lasting impact at Benet Academy.
