This year, Benet Academy is hosting The East Suburban Catholic Conference Championship for both Boys and Girls Cross Country. This meet takes place annually and consists of 9 Catholic high schools in the suburbs of Chicago. These schools are Benet Academy, Carmel High School, Joliet Catholic Academy, Marian Catholic High School, Marist High School, Nazareth Academy, Notre Dame College Prep, St. Patrick High School, and St. Viator High School. This year, the championship meet will take place Sunday, October 16 on the Benet Academy Campus.

The first race starts at 9:30 a.m. with the Frosh/Soph girls. The races will alternate between girls and boys every 30 minutes in order from Frosh/Soph, Varsity, and the Open. Following the races, there will be an awards ceremony, with medals given to the top 16 runners of each race. These runners will also earn All-Conference status. There will be a plaque awarded to the first-place varsity team. This meet will be the final meet for both the girl’s and boy’s teams before qualifying runners move on to Regionals.

Mass will be held prior to the meet in St. Ronald Gymnasium at 7:30 a.m. All are welcome to attend. This is a huge event, one that will go down in the history of Benet Academy.
