Her Stories on Hulu

“Women- they have minds, and they have souls, as well as just hearts. Moreover, they have got ambition, and they have got talent, as well as just beauty.” Uttered by Saoirse Ronan as Jo March, this line may be one of Little Women’s best (2019). Director Greta Gerwig’s movie and many others about the minds, souls, hearts, ambitions, talents, and beauty of women are available on Hulu. These are just some of the feminist films that are perfect for Women’s History Month this March.

Mrs. America: A miniseries of notable cast members like Cate Blanchette and Rose Byrne depicting a dramatization of the fight to pass the Equal Rights Amendment in the 70s. The 9-episode season received ten nominations at the 72nd Primetime Emmy Awards, with Uzo Aduba winning Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited Series or Movie.

The Wilds: This story centers around a group of female teenagers stranded on an island after a plane crash. The plot thickens as they are unknowingly the subjects of a social experiment.

The Great: Looking for something a bit further back in history? This hilarious, only mildly accurate satire about Catherine the Great is perfect for anyone wondering what it’s like to be Russia’s queen in the late 1700s. Elle Fanning won Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy Series for her role as the Empress herself in this show at the 2021 Satellite Awards.
