Sing On! A Comedy about a Musical

Looking for a fun way to spend a cold November night? Come to St. Daniel Theater to see the Benet Drama Troupe’s fall play production of Sing On! by Chicago playwright Rick Abbot.  In this hilarious show-within-a-show, a local dramatics troupe is put to the test in order to save their theater. They must perform a musical show by a lunatic-interfering author in front of the Bess Boosters (an organization whose goal is to “correct” the historical inaccuracies about England’s Queen Elizabeth I) in order to obtain a $50,000 grant to save their company. However, the odds are against them and just about anything that can go wrong does. Performances will be on Thursday November 21 at 3:30 p.m. (this is a final Dress Rehearsal), Friday November 22 at 7:00 p.m., Saturday November 23 at 7:00 p.m., and Sunday November 24 at 1:00 p.m. Tickets will go on sale the week prior during the lunch and homeroom periods for $5. The cast is made up of seniors Kristine Allen, Ryan Crowe, Erin Gillen, Charlotte Keely, and Brooke Knapp; juniors Kaitlin Cunningham, Aidan Diamond, and Tim Pipal; and sophomores Brynn Drake, Madeline Huie, and Luke Sortino.  The play is directed by Mr. John Leffler and Mr. Adam Akin with assistant directors Kelly Chism, Alyssa Garcia, and Jennifer Schiliro.
