Benet Academy Beard Growing Contest: A Christmas Tradition Continued

One of the best known traditions of the Benet Christmas Drive is the beard growing contest. Every year junior and senior boys can pay ten dollars to enter the contest. This allows them to forego shaving for the duration of Christmas Drive. This year twenty-four boys participated. After weeks of going without a razor, the finalists and a winner was chosen at the assembly. There are two rounds of elimination before picking the winner. Both rounds are judged by a combination of students and teachers, including Senor Ramon Marth and Mrs. Rosemary Sterr. This year the winner was senior Brian Gould.
