This true story about the famous author of the Winnie the Pooh and Friends books, A. A. Milne, shows a side of his family’s life that gives reason to his son’s upset and hatred of his name later on in life. Inspired by a bear in the London zoo and the various stuffed animals his son, Christopher Robin, posses, Milne crafts two stories in the mid to late 1920s: “Winnie-the-Pooh” and “The House at Pooh Corner.” These stories are instant successes and plunge the family into the limelight and fame. This movie is for anyone who has enjoyed the childhood character of Winnie the Pooh and would like to learn and see the struggles created for not only the writer, but his son, the infamous Christopher Robin.

Marshall
Released: October 13, 2017
Rating: PG-13
This historical film brings audiences back to the turmoil before the Civil Rights Movement where Thurgood Marshall (played by Chadwick Boseman) had started to argue in cases, defending African Americans who had experienced injustice. In this case, he goes to defend a black chauffeur who is accused by his employer of assault and attempted murder. Teaming up with a local Jewish lawyer who has had virtually no experience regarding criminal cases, they face discrimination for both the color of their skin and their beliefs by people who don’t want to see them win the case. Another excellent movie that has shed light on important parts of United States history as Marshall, through cases like the one this film highlights, ends up receiving an appointment to the Supreme Court years later.
